It has been movie madness the last couple of months. We saw a screening of Kingsman the Secret Service. Cute movie with lots of laughs. Reminded me of a combination Get Smart show and James Bond movie. That was followed-up by The Imitation Game, Unbroken, and American Sniper. I'm not sure I've ever seen so many movies based on true people and war all in such a short time span.
The Imitation game really surprised me. First, I have to honestly admit that I had never heard of Alan Turing before the movie. Second, I had no clue that something so significant had taken place during WWII. The movie was completely fascinating and heartbreaking at the same time.
Unbroken, another movie that just rips at your heart but at the same time leaves you in awe of what the human body and soul can endure. One can only imagine how Mr. Zamperini and other war prisoners could possible survive the things they did.
American Sniper. Some controversy over this movie and about Chris Kyle. But for me the bottom line was that the film highlighted what it should have...our men and women and what they do on a daily basis to serve and protect. It was on my must see list and I'm very glad I was able to see it.
In other news it is Justified's last season. Mixed emotions here. LOVE this show but with the passing of Elmore Leonard and this being the sixth season, you have to know when to pull the reigns before a show dies on its own. I sure will miss those one liners!
Our sweet boy Bootz is still hanging in there. We passed the one year mark on his journey through cancer. His treatments are now 5 weeks out. He turned 10 in December, sleeps a bit more, has a bit more trouble with stairs, but if food is around he will sniff it out and come running...well okay trotting lol. (For those that don't know, our Bootz is the third from the left in my above blog picture)
Our Maggie girl turned 5 in December and is as crazy and sweet as a one year old. She sure loves chewing on those Nyla Bones.
Started something new this weekend. Hoping maybe it will help some with the Fibromyalgia and such. We have a place in Nashville called Juice Nashville. (That is saying a lot considering how picky I am!) It is all cold pressed juices. I've had two so far and they were actually pretty yummy. Hoping the extra punch of these will help.
Took a beautiful hike/walk around Radner Lake Saturday with about 300 of my closest friends. Seriously, I thought it was crowded when I went into the woods. I came out and you would have thought the zombie apocalypse had started!! People EVERYWHERE! I didn't think I was going to be able to get out of the park. It was a beautiful day though and we are so blessed to have a place like Radner Lake to go walk and see some beautiful wildlife (got to watch 6 deer, some turkeys, multiple types of ducks and turtles) and scenery.
