We just came back from seeing Miracles From Heaven. I had really been looking forward to this movie and it did not disappoint. Whether you are strong in your walk with God, just getting to know Him, or so far away from Him that Mars seems closer, this movie is a must see.
I do believe God performs miracles to remind us He is with us. I also believe He shows us things each day to remind us He is with us no matter what journey we are on. My husband and I are currently on a journey we thought we had finished six months ago. I believe He will bring us through it now just like He did then. That doesn't mean I don't falter, it doesn't mean everything will be perfect. It means that I believe He knows what is best and that He can handle it better than I can. There is so much peace in knowing that.
Today is the first day of spring and it is cloudy, windy and 43 out. Someone has a sense of humor. But everywhere I look, I do see signs of spring. The grass had to be moved this week and it is nice and green. Leaves and buds are popping out on the trees and flowers are blooming. Then there is the one true sign, the stinky but beautiful pear tress are in full bloom. Everywhere you look there are big cotton balls on sticks!
One of the things I'm working on while on this new journey, is moving more. Something we can all stand to do. I have had a Fitbit Flex for just three years and it has served me well. It is starting to show its age and I was thinking of replacing it. Fitbit has now come out with a newer activity tracker that is very similar but has a few extra features. The Fitbit Alta is still very slim, lightweight and has all the features the Flex did, but with a nice new display screen on it. Yesterday I bit the bullet and upgraded and so far I'm really liking it. My Flex was black and while I liked that it was inconspicuous, I decided to spice it up and go with the Plum.
Cooper is getting bigger. Weighed in at over 20 pounds yesterday for his checkup. He and his sister Maggie are getting along much better thank goodness! He loves her so much and is always glued to her side. 10 Days and he is a free boy! We will finally get to take him to Petsmart and get to some serious socializing with other animals. More than just us holding him while he looks around.
If you are in the Franklin, TN area and haven't done so yet, go check out Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop. They have locations in Knoxville, one in Georgia and one in Texas as well. Oh my word! I'll be honest you guys. Pie is not usually my sweet of choice. If you offered me pie and something else, more times than not I'll choose the something else. I can't say that now if it is pie from Buttermilk Sky Pie. The crust is just right, the fillings are amazing and best of all I don't have to make them! They have classics available all year long. Then they have seasonal pies and then get this...every month they do a specialty pie and part of the proceeds go to a local charity. Guys I love a company that gives back. Good pie and good for the community, count me in!
I will wrap up with a reminder, May is just around the corner and we all know what that means....STRAWBERRY SEASON and The Peach Truck comes to town!! Happy Dance!!
